homemade baby food questions….?

How long can I puree food in the fridge? 2 or 3 days? He used to have to do everything before the time and freeze, and now she is older and eating “table food”, so they only baby food mill grind at dinner that I still like to eat a little mashed comemos.pero vegetables or fruit, but a freeze in ice trays are now angry because they having more of them, I’m only a little at a time for a few days to do and keep in the fridge, but for how long? Furthermore, how often your baby meat? My daughter is 8 months and I know that they are to eat meat, but how much and how often, and what you do for your baby? I pureed chicken, add them before, but what is good, I hate to use commercial baby foods such as Gerber, unless you have to, I think 4-5 of them in my hand, I need to be covered. But I can bring something to eat from cool home with me i diaper bag, a little, as if I was on a break from Mexico. or fast food?

I would not keep pureed babyfood in the fridge past 2 days. The babyfood grinder already made small amounts, just put less in.

I personally would not carry homemade food unless it’s stuff that isn’t refrigerated. It’s far safer to use the jarred stuff. While some devoted moms wouldn’t agree with this, I also know a lot of infants get sick from food that is left out too long (not necessarily homemade) and end up in the emergency room. Just not worth the $180 minimum charge vs. 80 cents.

[edited to add]: I would love to say that you can just feed the kid food from the restaurant, but because of so many cases of e.coli and Hep A and other food poisoning instances going on, I just would never bring a young child to eat at one and would provide my own food, jarred when away from home.

I made babyfood for all of my kids and the best way to store it at this stage are the gladware 4oz. storage cups. take the cubes out and put them into a double bagged ziplock or other freezer dish. (remember to label them though!). This way you can make a decent sized quzntity at a time and it won’t go bad. You might want to look into getting a mini food processor (Walmart sells them for around $10) they are alot easier to use than the grinder. Turkey purees pretty easily and so do some of the leaner cuts of beef. (stew pieces worked well) *********** EDIT Taking food along with you when you dine out is no more dangerous than carrying a bottle. You mentioned carrying it in a cooler. The amount of time from home to a restaurant will not result in a case of salmonella! I would just suggest you bring something similar looking to the food the family will be eating, as your baby grows they will hate to the idea that everyone else is eating something different!

Feeding your baby at a restaurant shouldn’t be a problem but be polite and mention to the waiter first that you’re going to feed your baby some food from your bag. Another alternative is to ask the restaurant if they have any fruit or soft bread for your baby to eat (this may only be viable once he’s a bit older!!). Having a baby with you is no reason to not enjoy evenings out! Good Luck
